CSK Vs KKR, 5th Match: Preview
What a game it was, almost after a gap of two years returning Chennai and Mumbai took their rivalry to the next level and opened the Vivo IPL 2018 with a bang. The match was all about Thala akka Dhoni and his men returning back to the fold and the much awaited rivalry. After the end of 1st innings it was well in favour of CSK but soon fortunes turned and Markande the debutant hung the balance in favour of Mumbai with his 3-fer which included Rayudu, MS.Dhoni and Deepak Chahar but it was DJ.Bravo whose 30 ball 68 took CSK close to a win and then injured Kedar Jadhav won the match for his team. Whereas Kolkata Knight Riders win their opening home game against RCB with ease because of Narine’s fifty.
The match will be played at M.A.Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It will be Chennai’s first home game. The pitch here is expected to be slow and low offering more support to spinners. Also, dew might come into play in the later part of the match.
Talking about both the teams, CSK has won 10 out of the 17 games played bewteen them and KKR 6 games with one being abondoned due to rain. Overall in current scenario CSK has a upper hand on KKR in both batting and bowling department as KKR lack good pace bowlers and KKR has a bit fragile middle-order too.
Almost same side is expected to play the game, with injured Kedar Jadhav being replaced by either local boy Jagdeesan or the experienced campaginer M.Vijay. The team has enough spin resources in the last XI which they played.
