Top 3 replacements for Injured Mitchell Santner

As we all know that In-form Kiwi spin bowling All-rounder Mitch Santner injured his knee few days back due to which he will be missing the upcoming Indian Premier League season 11 and English County. As per doctors the all-rounder will be out of action for atleast 6 to 9 months. This injury has come as a huge blow for Chennai Super Kings but from fans point of view CSK can now strengthen their team with a pace bowling option. So, here are the top three contenders to replace Santner ( Includes Unsold Players):

1. David Willey

Willey is yet to make his IPL appearance but has performed exceptionally well in BBL for Perth Scorchers, Willey being a all-rounder will give a good balance to the team and can prove letheal with both bat and ball, he has taken 107 wickets in 107 matches with over 1200 runs in domestic T-20’s. Also, Willey is a handy player who can be used as a floater when required. He went unsold for a base price of Rs. 2.00 Crore in the Vivo IPL 2018 Auctions.

2. Moises Henriques

He is a Portugal-Australia born cricketer who plays for New South Wales Blues, Sydney Sixers in the domestic Australian Cricket. He has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL for last 2 seasons and has been a integral part of their setup but this time he has been left out from their squad. The handy All-rounder has so far scored 3219 runs at strike rate of over 125 and with 15 fifty plus scores, he has also taken 107 wickets with a best of 3 for 11 in 176 matches. Henriques can also be used as a floater in the batying order and is a genuine wicket taking option. He went unsold for a base price of Rs. 1.50 Crore in the Vivo IPL 2018 Auctions.

3. Hilton Cartwright

He is a Zimbabwe-Australia born cricketer, who plays International Cricket for Australia. He has so far played 27 T-20’s in which he has scored 409 runs and has taken 2 wickets. His Stats are not so encouraging but he has potential and can play a good role for Chennai as floater as well as pinch hitter up the order. He went unsold for a base price of Rs. 50 Lakhs in the Vivo IPL 2018 Auctions.

From my point of view David Willey is the ample replacement for Mitch Santner.
