Ind vs Sa, 5th ODI: Preview
After the first loss of the series India look to rebuild and hit the rainbow nation hard in the 5th One-Dayer. Meanwhile the Proteas looked preety happy with the performance they put in which helped them retain their record of being unbeaten in the Pink ODI. Talking about the game, it was a century stand yet again from Virat and Dhawan which helped India to put up a good score but Rohit’s dip in form and Rahane’s over confidence has put question marks on the planning and prepartion of the team, with Pandya not contributing much with either bat or ball the situation is a bit tensed right now. But the main reason for the loss was Virat’s in-appropriate decision to back his spinners on a surface which was not help them and as a result Chahal bowled no-balls under pressure after being hit badly and moreover he removed Miller off the no-ball which eventually costed India the match. Klassen the young Keeper-batsman was awarded Man of the Match for his innings of 40 odd.
Coming onto the 5th ODI, both teams would be looking to capitalize on the opportunity, one will aim for a series victory and another will aim to atleast keep the series alive and take it to the final ODI for decision.
Ground and Pitch Conditions:
The match will be played at St. George’s Park, Port Elizabeth. It will be a Day/Night affair and match will commence at 4:30 PM IST. Taling about the pitch, it is a bit bowler friendly and last time when South Africa played here, the game was a lower scoring one and both pacers and spinners got wickets in equal proportions.
With only two matches left in the series, India might look to make some changes. Hardik Pandya is probably the one who will face axile and Shami is expected to play due to bowler friendly conditions. Another change might come as a surprise, Chahal is expected to be rested due to a cramped schedule ahead and Axar Patel might see himself in the side. Inclusion of both Shami and Patel will add batting depth as well as give India five full-time bowling options. Also Rohit is expected to get another chance due to Rahane playing at no. 4 and India don’t have any good opening options available with them.
