Ind vs SA, 3rd Test: Preview

After losing the series in Centurion, Indian Team looks like they have lost the plot and under preparation is the reason for that. Meanwhile South Africa looks sorted with their problems and they have also found a good replacement for injury prone Dale Steyn and further they have shown great intent and energy which was not seen in the Indian squad.

Pitch and Ground Conditions:

The match will be played at New Wanderers Stadium, Johanesburg. The Pitch here traditionally is flat and do not offer much to the bowlers but it might get a bit slow and offer some turn on the last day. Overall it will be tough for bowlers to take wickets on this surface.

With only 1 Test left in the series, India will be looking to avoid the clean sweep but it won’t be easy for them due to some reasons and one of them is under performance of openers, another is lack of intent in middle order and the last is poor fielding. To overcome these problems the team will need to do 3 things right:

1. Bring Dinesh Karthik in-place of Parthiv Patel as Keeper.

2. Replace KL.Rahul with Rahane and bring Rohit at Top with Vijay.

3. Bring B.Kumar in-place of Ishant.

These things might help India overcome the problems, as inclusion of these 3 not only solidifies the team but give the extra cushion to both batting and bowling.

Playing XI:

Rohit, Vijay, Pujara, Virat(C), Karthik(Wk), Rahane, Pandya, Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shami, Bumrah

South Africa-

No changes from the hosts, unless or until there is an injury.

Playing XI:

Markarm, Elgar, Amla, Du Plessis(C), De Villiers, De Kock(Wk), Philander, Maharaj, Nigidi, Morkel, Rabada
