With less than 20 days to go for the Mega Auctions, all the teams are gearing up to finalize the players who they would like to feature in their sides. As far as Chennai is concerned they are clear that they will get Mccullum and Bravo back in their setup through RTM with as many as 7 more overseas players are expected to feature for them this season. One of the most prominent player in that list is Faf Du Plessis as he has played well for them and he has been a integral part of the team in previous edition and was responsible for their run to the final in 2015. Another shocking pick will be Andrew Tye who represented CSK in 2015 but was not able to get his debut. In 2017 Tye debuted for Gujarat Lions and took 5 for 17 on debut and also took a hat-trick in the later stages of the tournament.

Moving onto the spinning department CSK would like to bring back Badree in the side as he has been in and around the setup for the long time and performed really well for the side in previous editions. Moreover CSK would look for an additional overseas spinner and Tahir might be a good option for that.

David Willey and Chris Lynn might be under the eye of CSK as both of them have played vital roles in T-20’s. Chris Lynn played for KKR in previous season and was almost unstoppable, he played with a strike rate of over 180 despite missing most of the season due to injury. On other hand Willey is yet to make his IPL appearance but has performed exceptionally well in BBL for Perth Scorchers, Willey being a all-rounder will give a good balance to the team and can prove letheal with both bat and ball, he has taken 107 wickets in 107 matches with over 1200 runs in domestic T-20’s.

Overall it will be a kind of reunion for many, if CSK gets to buy same set of players as predicted.

Predicted Overseas Signings for CSK:

Du Plessis

Chris Lynn

David Willey

Andrew Tye
