Ind vs NZ, 1st ODI: Preview
After a good series against Australia, the Indian Team is back after a short Diwali break for their next assignment. The chance of enhancing both ODI and becoming no. one in T-20 is looming at the door. So far Indians have performed well and their counter-part New Zealand had a average start to the tour, by winning one and losing one practice game against Board President XI in Mumbai, at CCI (Cricket Club of India). Ross Taylor and Tom latham scored Centuries in the 2nd game, which New Zealand won, whereas the T-20 series against Aussie for India was drawn. Indian Team is fully prepared and confident for any challenge. Interestingly New Zealand has made some changes to their team and it will be 3rd series for India without Ashwin and Jadeja. This series also provides India with a chance of gaining the No. 1 ODI ranking again which they lost to South Africa recently.

The pitch here usually helps batsman but do offers assistance to spinners and swing bowlers at start. Here average score is over 300 and a lot of due is expected to be seen.
The Indians retained most of their players and there are few changes in the squad. KL.Rahul, Shami, Umesh are out and Dinesh Karthik, Shardul Thakur, Shikhar Dhawan are in. So dropping Rahul means Rahane is the 3rd opener for the Team now, Shardul have been chosen on the back of his good performance against New Zealand A and in domestic cricket.
