So far we have seen a dominant side of India in the series and a unpleasant response from Aussies has led this series to a disappointing end rather then a nail-bitting finish. Finally both teams will meet for the final time in this ODI series, India having lost the last match is on back foot whereas Aussies would be happy that they finally won a ODI after 12 matches. Talking about the previous game Warner made century in his 100th ODI for Austrlaia and Finch missed out on a century this time, Aussies played superbly but at one point another collapse saw them under-achieving the par-score again but the most outstanding was the Australian bowling again a clean spell from Coulter-Nile and perfect line and length from Cummins and Richardson’s 3-fer took Australia to a handsome victory.
Coming onto Indian side, the Indians made three changes getting Shami, Umesh and Axar in and Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar, Kuldeep not playing. But the bowlers were the culprits, only Kedar Jadhav was the pick of the bowlers who bowled well and took 1 wicket at important time. Overall it was Kohli’s decision to send Hardik Pandya at 4 led to India’s down-fall.
Ground and Pitch Condition:
India last played at this venue against Australia in 2013 and over 300 runs were scored and chased in that game. It is one of the biggest Stadium in the World and currently biggest stadium in India in terms of playing area, the Straight boundary here is 80m. The Pitch here is usually batsman friendly but can be good to the bowlers in start of the game as it yields natural bounce and swing.
After a disappointing show in last match, the team would be looking to bring Kuldeep in the team in place of Axar and Shami can be replaced by Bumrah or Bhuvneshwar, their selection is solely based on the type of pitch. Also Manish Pandey should bat at No. 4 and Pandya at No. 7, Jadhav is a perfect choice for No.5 and Dhoni should Anchor as No. 6 in team.
Rohit, Rahane, Virat(C), M.Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, MS.Dhoni(Wk), H.Pandya, Kuldeep, Chahal, Umesh, Bumrah/B.Kumar
No changes are expected from Aussies except injured Marcus Stoinis might miss out from this game and Faulknar might be included, the rest of the squad remains same.
Warner, Finch, Smith(C), Handscomb, Head, Wade(wk), Faulknar, Zampa, Richardson, Cummins, Coulter-Nile
India will become No. 1 in ODI’s if they beat Australia in the last match.
Last time when Kohli played here in Nagpur in a ODI he strucked a century.
Vidharbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur is the biggest stadium in India in terms of playing field.
