Ind vs Sri, 4th ODI: Preview
After Conviencing win in 3rd ODI and India claiming the series 3-0 in Pallekele, both teams move to Colombo for the 4th and 5th ODI. With a Fantastic win India is more confident of 5-0 win, where as the last two matches are do-die for Srilanka to stay in contention for direct qualification to 2019 WC. After being thrashed badly by India, two more Srilankan players will be out due to injury, Chandimal out due to hairline fracture and Kapugedra their stand in captain is out because of back injury and Malinga has been appointed as stand in captain for 4th ODI. On other hand their are no injury concerns for India but there might be some changes in the team, most probably KL Rahul, Chahal, Bhuvneshwar will be replaced by Manish Pandey, Kuldeep and Shardul Thakur in the playing XI.
Coming onto the previous match, it was a match to be remembered for Bumrah’s excellence, he bowled a spell that will be remebered throughout as he took his first 5 wicket haul and his 5th wicket was his Ideal Malinga, he took 5 wickets for 27 runs in 10 overs and also owling 2 maiden overs, thus restricting Srilanka to 217 for 9 in 50 overs. While chasing India lost Dhawan,Virat, Rahul and Jadhav early but then Rohit and Dhoni took the charge, Rohit scored a brilliant century and Dhoni played a good knock of 60 odd runs and just when 8 runs were required the crowd threw bottles on the field and match was stopped and it restarted after 32 minutes and finally both batsman took India over the line thus winning the match by 6 wickets.
Pitch and Ground Conditions:
The match will be played at R Premadasa Stadium Colombo and the ground is best known for it’s superb support staff and high scoring conditions, with average 1st innings score of 231 and 2nd innings score of 195 and the highest being 363 runs by India vs Srilanka in a match.
