Ind vs WI 2nd ODI: Preview

With the 1st ODI of the series being washed out, both the teams will knock their horns again on Sunday at the same venue( Queen’s Park Oval in port of Spain, Trinidad)  for the 2nd match of the series, with the weather expected to be worse than the first game, it will be interesting to see how both teams will approach the game. Despite a no result both teams need to address their mistakes as soon as possible, as Indian team failed to show some aggression with the bat by just making 199 runs in 39.2 overs with a loss of 3 wickets, though the pitch was two paced but a score over 250 was defendable but looking at India’s condition it was unlikely that they would be able to make a score of around 250. The Indian Openers provided a safe start with a century stand but India was soon in trouble when they lost 3 back to back wickets of Ajinkya(62 off 78 balls), Shikhar(87 off 92 balls) and Yuvraj( 4 off 10 balls). If the game would have been reduced to 20 overs a side than the Indian team might have lost the game as West Indies would have required a total of 164 in 20 overs but due persistent rain the match was called-off.  Also Kuldeep Yadav was included in  place of jadeja, so it looks interesting that will jadeja get a game in the upcoming ODI’s or not.

On other hand West Indies struggled with their pace balling as Alzarri Joseph went for 53 off 8 overs with a solitary wicket of Rahane, also Cummins went for 46 off 8 overs without any wicket, only Bishoo emerged as the best of the all west Indian bowlers by taking a solitary wicket of Shikhar and bowling a spell off 10 overs for 39 runs. But still West Indian batting is yet to be tested against  mighty Indian bowling.

Venue: Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad

Time: 18;30 IST, 9;00 local time

With the Conditions expected to be same, their will be hardly any changes for both the teams until or unless someone gets injured. But from my point of view Yuvraj Singh might be rested and Dinesh Kartik or Rishabh Pant may be included in the side.
