ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Selection Conundrum For India against Pakistan

The Defending Champions of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017,  after a powerful performance in warm-ups face a huge selection conundrum before the Big Clash against Pakistan. A good performance by both Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya with the bat have ensured India that they have a good bench strength, with Yuvraj not featuring in any of the warm-ups have raised some eyebrows on his fitness as earlier he was diagnosed with viral and a major concern is about form of both Rahane and Rohit. Both Mumbaikers have failed to show form in the warm-ups with Rahane failing in both and Rohit played only one warm-up against Bangladesh but failed to score runs. On other hand both Shikhar and Virat showed form by scoring Half Centuries, also Dhoni played some good shots which ensured he is ready to go into the Mega Tournament, with Kedar Jadhav also showing some form, India is assured of a well defined batting roles for each player.

A good performance by India with ball have ensured team management that they can trust on any bowler any time in the Tournament. India will go with a bowling combination of 3-2 that is India will play with both spinners Ashwin, Jadeja and they will be going with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav as the new ball bowlers and Bumrah may be included as the third bowler.

With the Pitch is expected to be good for batting, the bowlers have a minimal chance of showcasing their skills. With both teams highly banking on their pacers and in comparison India have a better bowling attack with two best spinners in their side. Also from the warm-ups, the scores of over 350 have been easily achieved and chased by the teams. So, it is expected to be a high scoring game with some assistance to the bowlers in the starting.
